Shinrin-yoku 森林浴 is the Japanese term for "forest-bathing." The therapeutic act of immersing oneself in natural landscapes —

Proven to reduce stress,  bring clarity to the mind, and improve overall well-being.

I recreate natural landscapes using indigenous plants, arranged in their original mosaic — allowing for shinrin-yoku in your own backyard.

Peace of mind that a hedge and lawn cannot provide.

About

Bringing Nature Home

With more than 5 years working in ecological restoration and  shaping gardens, supported by a Certificate III in Conservation and Ecosystem Management, I focus on recreating landscapes that restore the living function of the land — fostering a deeper connection between people and the natural world.
  • The Magical Goggles

As a young boy growing up in Sydney suburbia, I dreamt of a pair of magical goggles.

These goggles would allow anyone to see the landscape exactly as it was before it was cleared and built upon.

Walking down a busy Pitt street pavement holding my mother's hand, I would imagine putting them on and—voila!—the wild returned.

Towering, flowering Red Gums and sprawling shrubs replaced shopfronts.

    Ferns unfurled between sandstone outcrops.

Clear creeks wound their way through a landscape alive with movement.

I didn’t just want to see this —
    I wanted to feel it.

  • Forgetting & Remembering

I grew up and accepted the concrete and lawns.

The wonder faded. The connection thinned.

I forgot about the goggles — and what once was.

It wasn’t until I began working in gardens — mowing lawns, trimming hedges, maintaining spaces that felt strangely empty — that something stirred again.

I was in these green spaces… but there was very little life.

    And I couldn’t unsee it.

So I got a job in Bush Regeneration and became enthralled by the variety of colours, textures and tones of the native plants of Greater Sydney.

    Nature

I found the goggles once more.

  • What It Became

That childhood vision didn’t disappear — it grew.

Today, my work is about helping people experience something many of us don't realise we've lost:

    A living, breathing landscape.

    One that belongs here.
    One that supports life.

One you can feel connected to — every time you step outside.

Acknowledgement of Country

The landscapes and plants we work with have been understood, cared for, and utilised for tens of thousands of years by First Nations people. Their knowledge and deep connection to Country continue to guide how land can be restored and respected.

We acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded and pay our respects to Elders past and present. We honour their enduring relationship with Country.

Let Nature In

Our philosophy is rooted in a deep connection to the natural world.

We believe a garden should serve both the individual and it's ecology.

By prioritising native species and mindful land care, we create outdoor spaces that are inviting, enduring, and alive.

Each design is a collaboration — shaped by skilled hands and guided by nature.
